Aqualyx is used to ‘dissolve’ stubborn pockets of fat which remain resistant to diet or exercise. The Aqualyx treatment is suitable for tackling areas around the face or on the body, wherever fat gathers.

 

For example, areas that might be treated include:

  • tummy, stomach or abdomen

  • hips or ‘saddle bags’

  • thighs – including inner thigh area

  • knees

What are the benefits of Aqualyx?

Aqualyx is a safe, effective fat dissolving injection treatment. It produces long-lasting results, which means you can banish those unwanted areas of stubborn fat. Aqualyx can be used to treat small, exercise-resistant, pockets of fat around the chin, chest, abdomen and thighs. It is very effective for body contouring and skin tightening​

What to expect from the treatment?

The doctor will clean the area and apply a numbing cream – we allow 15 minutes for this to work. The cream is wiped off, and a grid-like area will be marked out on the skin with a pen. Small injections will be administered into the fat layer of the skin. These are generally minimally painful. Up to 10 small doses may be put into the fatty area under the chin. The whole process will take 30 minutes, and you can return to normal activities straight away. If the double chin area is treated, swelling will start almost immediately. You can return to your normal activities once you feel ready, but the area may feel tender for up to 2 weeks. We advise no strenuous exercises for seven days to allow the treatment to settle in.

How safe is Aqualyx?

Since 2009 Aqualyx has been used in over 2 million treatments in over 49 countries. It has a strong safety record supported by sound medical science. There are very few adverse effects reported, other than swelling for 7-10 days after the treatment with can be uncomfortable. Complications are very rare but can include pain, bruising and itching.

How do I know if I am a suitable candidate for Aqualyx?

If you are a fit weight with a little amount of fat you want to remove, are between 18-60 years old and you are not lactating or pregnant, then Aqualyx could be best for you. It is vital to note that while Aqualyx does have skin tightening features, a little number of patients with excessive laxity may not be perfect for the treatment.

Why is Aqualyx a great alternative to liposuction?

It's effective and minimally invasive, unlike liposuction which requires invasive surgery, general anaesthetic and significant downtime after treatment.

Is it suitable for men and women?

Yes, it works for both men and women. Many of our male clients find this to be a simple, risk-free, and cost-effective non-surgical alternative for removing belly fat, "love handles," and chest fat pockets or "man boobs.”  (Man boobs or “moobs” must be checked by a medic to ensure they are not hormonal prior to treatment being carried out.)
